Japantown’s newest and most exciting festival experience is that of the SF Anime Festival. In conjunction with Japan Center Malls, the EMW team worked tirelessly to ensure the success of Japantown’s very first anime and cosplay focused event. Providing a safe and friendly environment where ALL lovers of (and those wanting to know more about!) this phenomena can meet to share ideas, create lasting bonds, and have an overall fun time, was the key to this festival’s achievement.
Alongside the wonderful cosplays you will find at this celebration of all things anime, it is also a great opportunity to experience Japanese music, fashion, and food. We greatly encourage the Bay Area and all of its visitors to come check out the festivities. Building on the excellent attendance and feedback from July 2015’s premier event, EMW plans to continue this eye-catching attraction and create more San Francisco, Japantown traditions!
Itadakimasu is a Japanese phrase voiced before every meal, giving thanks to nature for the harvest. In using this term, EMW discovered the perfect way to introduce traditional Japanese cuisine to the community of Seattle, Washington, in partnership with the Washoku World Challenge 2015.
Supported by our friends at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan (MAFF) and Nikkei Business Publications, Washoku is a celebration of the delicacy found in Japanese ingredients and places high value on exquisite presentation. The public response to this refined dining experience was exceptional, and EMW Partners is currently in the works to support this cooking contest in various cities across the United States in order to further spread Japanese culture.
EMW’s trading department works closely with several Japanese brands, a few of which we bring directly to WWD MAGIC trade show in Las Vegas, NV. This fashion exhibit is known to be the world’s largest marketplace for the latest in apparel, footwear, accessories, and manufacturing. It is the hottest spot for us to feature the brand names we work with!
Following our first attendance in February 2014 with Japanese accessories label, Histoire, EMW has put forth a dedicated effort to return year after year. In our future trade show appearances, we have made detailed arrangements to introduce more of the beautiful fashion labels in EMW’s partner list.
One of the most well-known events that EMW Partners has provided support for is the San Francisco, Japantown JPOP Summit. Throughout the years, we have worked behind the scenes on event management, as well as brought great Japanese vendors, such as Merry Time and Histoire, to the festival. The EMW team has aided in the great success of this Nihonmachi (Japantown) tradition.
Our goal is to bring forth the excitement of modern Japanese pop culture to those who are already acquainted with its contemporary style, and to the curious onlooker wanting to learn more! With a record of 120,000 visitors over the two-day Summit in 2014, EMW is confident in its abilities to create a welcoming environment for all future functions.
